Fell runners in Lycra

Not too serious

Mountain peaks are where the gods reside: Zeus in Greece, and some in the Norse tradition. Cumbria’s more modest peaks, sometimes also shrouded in mist, are guarded by the sheep gods. It seems to be a job for the girls, like the Norns of Richard Wagner’s reworking of the North German myths. This was a wet weather hike up Latrigg (368 m.); uncomfortable weather did, as so often, reward with fascinating light and clouds.
