Hiking
Sporty circular walk out to Barnes Bridge and round the Thames path on the Surrey bank, passing around Hammersmith Bridge (which is closed, even to pedestrians or river traffic) and back home via Putney Bridge. I did this today as a training walk, so a couple of litres of water as weight in my rucksac, walking fast and with as few stops as possible.
Morning mist on the River Thames for my exercise walk between Barnes and Putney shortly after sun rise. The water is unusually still at high water with the lack of boat traffic in the lockdown.
Seeing things in better perspective: hiking away from the City of London on the Thames Path downstream from Woolwich Arsenal. Nothing is forever: sic transit gloria is also an aphorism of hope.
The skies, shapes and notoriously sticky South Downs mud from my hike to and around Castle Hill Nature Reserve in the South Downs National Park in Sussex. A day hike out from my support bubble mate’s home. I’ve been thinking of doing a set about Mud for a while and this day out provided an opportunity.

Rowing Eight and Fulham football stadium
Walking from Barnes to Putney along the Thames Path; the river here does a loop so it’s much shorter to walk the chord but nothing like so interesting. The rowing crews are back out on the river but Hammersmith Bridge is still closed because of cracks in the Victorian ironwork, so the traffic on the footpath is much reduced. Note the Star Wars stormtrooper on Christmas duty. I enjoyed Mince Pies from The Parish Bakery in Barnes for my festive picnic.
