Motorbiking
"Biker" for me usually means motorbiking, though I also have a couple of mountain-bikes... see Trail Bike
My current motorbikes are a Honda CBR600RR ABS 2017 and a Kawasaki Ninja Z250SL.
Previously I have owned: Kawasaki ZX4-RR (Ninja anniversary edition), Honda CRF300 Rally, Honda CBR600RR 2005, Honda CBR600FW, Honda VF750F, Yamaha FJ600, Suzuki GSX750EX, Yamaha FJ750, Yamaha XJ900, Kawasaki Z750 and I passed my riding test on my Kawasaki KH250.

Bright clear start in Marseille though chilly enough hammering up the valley of the Durance but I was wearing lots of layers. Then a cut through to the Route Napoléon.
The autumn colours are spectacular. Both in swathes on the sides of the valleys and single trees in isolation. This is the end of autumn here in the Provence Alps so the colours are their most intense. One more storm maybe and they’ll be gone and it will be winter, meanwhile it’s a show to relish.
GBMCC’s monthly London pub meet: great to meet friends and great we are now allowed back indoors.

Sunny Sunday morning in Cumbria.
Fill up with high octane petrol, what shortage?
Ride on to Ullswater, passing a farm training quad bikers.
Then a boathouse launching kayakers.
Check map under a sprawling oak.
Ride on to Lowther Castle, that William Wordsworth called a majestic Pile.
Passing Penrith, ride up racy Hartside, more bikers than cars.
The summit cafe is shut. Where now, we chat?
We find them: Keswick Filling Station is busy.

Exploring around St. Bees Head, the most westerly point of the Cumbrian coastline.
Quick spin on my Ninja Z250 to check new kit that I’ve brought back from Marseille. Also to forage for fuel and keep the battery happy as the bike’s been in the garage for a month whilst I’ve been in Marseille. It’s a nice bike for the little roads round here but a bit worrying on mud and gravel wash-outs after the rains. Still thinking of a trail / rally bike.

Alps Biker 2016
I'm riding light for a week on the mountain roads of the Alps. No laptop, although I do have my SLR camera but photos will have to wait till I'm back in Marseille..
I left Marseille for a long ride north via the Col de la Croix Haute (1179 m.) to Saint-Gervais under Mont Blanc. A bit of rain towards the end of the day which cleaned the Provence dust off my white leathers and boots but didn't soak me through.
